Embracing Creativity While Navigating the Fear of Being Seen

I've finally launched my YouTube channel and I'm having a blast with it! However, I've noticed something interesting about this journey—even when I'm enjoying the creative process and love the final result, there's still that fear of putting myself out there and having strangers view my work. It's almost like I've put a spotlight on my insecurities, assuming everyone sees me through that same lens.

But that kind of thinking won't get me where I want to be. So how do we overcome this fear of being perceived? Here are some approaches that have been working for me:

  • Regular therapy sessions – I schedule biweekly visits with my therapist to address the root of my fears. My goal is to understand and eventually overcome them!

  • Post and pivot – After uploading content, I immediately go do something I love. This keeps the positive emotions flowing instead of obsessively checking views and comments.

  • Objective feedback processing – I try to read comments as valuable feedback. Not everyone will connect with my content, and even critical comments can contain useful insights if I approach them objectively.

While I'm excited to expand beyond Instagram to YouTube, I'm still nervous about what's next. Returning to work soon means adjusting to different time zones, managing fatigue, and establishing new routines.

But I'm determined to maintain this momentum—so here we go!
